Combe Down, Bath
Welcome to De Montalt Wood Bed and Breakfast. Come and stay in our beautiful Grade 2 Listed Building built in 1848
set in 18 Acres of garden and woodland..
Nestling at the end of long quiet driveway, it has all the appearance of a country house and yet it
is only a 10 minute drive to the centre of the world heritage city of Bath.
With only two bedrooms, you can relax in a peaceful environment. Both rooms are south facing and with
views on two sides. They have Super-King-sized beds and their own bathrooms.
We serve a full English breakfast. We take care to source our ingredients from the best local suppliers.
We are proud to have the Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence which you can see opposite. Click on our name on the certificate and you can see what our guests have had to say about us.

When you stay at De Montalt Wood, there are several excellent places to eat within a 5 minute
drive. They all allow easy parking either on their premises or within a very short walk.
Extend your journey to 10 minutes and you are in the centre of Bath where there is a fine choice of restaurants for
every taste and budget. The famous Theatre Royal and other concert venues are also part of the Bath scene.
It is a pleasent walk from De Montalt Wood to Bath skirting Prior Park (photo right) and takes about half an hour. It is quite a steep climb coming back, though!
If you do not relish the walk, and don't want to worry about drinking and driving, our local bus stop is a 5 minute walk and the bus ride costs about £5 for two people or a taxi costs about £10 for up to 4 people.

Country Walks near Bath
De Montalt Wood has lovely country walks. Step out of our garden, into the wood and pick up a trail which leads to other trails in all directions.
If our own 18 acres are too restricting, you can stretch your legs on a range of walks from a few hundred yards to several miles. All the walks almost completely
avoid tarmac roads. Most of them present an opportunity for a small
detour to a country pub serving good food along the way.
View over Prior Park Bath
We are surrounded by hills and valleys, woods and streams.
The scenery forever changing as you round a bend, reach the top of a hill or descend into the valley.
